FAQ - Vision Rescue

How Can We Help You?

What does Vision Rescue do? +

Vision Rescue exists to rescue children from all forms of exploitation by engaging and sustaining them in education.

Where does Vision Rescue work? +

We work with children from low-income, vulnerable communities in Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata—focusing on education. To help sustain children in school, we also support their families and communities through nutrition, healthcare, skills training, counselling, and more.

Why is education the focus when there are so many other issues? +

We believe education is the only sustainable way to break the cycle of poverty and exploitation. Without education, children lack access to information vital for their growth and survival. Illiteracy keeps them from knowing their rights. But with education, children gain confidence, make informed choices, and begin to live with dignity and purpose.

Who are the children you support? +

We work with children from slum and low-income communities who are at risk of dropping out or never accessing education. We also support their families and communities with services like nutrition, healthcare, skills training, and counselling to keep these children in school.

How many children has Vision Rescue helped so far? +

As of March 2021, we’ve directly engaged 12,170 children in education, enrolled 4,916 children into formal schools, supported 1,523 municipal school children, and trained 274 children through our sports coaching programs.

Do you have policies to protect the children you work with? +

Yes, we follow a detailed Child Protection Policy to ensure the safety and well-being of every child we serve. You can read the policy document here.
